Supernaturally by Kiersten White
This was the follow up book to the previous I read, Paranormalcy. It wasn't "oh my gosh" better, but it wasn't horrible either. It followed along the same lines as the first book. Evie is struggling with herself and wanting desperately to find out about where she came from and who she is. She is questioning her relationship with Lend and wondering if it will even last. New characters are introduced and it makes everything "suspicious". This story line keeps you constantly wondering and guessing motives and outcomes of situations that arise. But again, Evie is an awesome character. You can't help but feel sorry for her as she discovers who she really is and be happy once she figures out what is really important and what is the most important thing to stand up for in her life. In the acknowledgements Kiersten does say there will be a third book. She doesn't give any hints as to what the story will be though. I'll definitely be on the lookout for it though 'cause I want to know how Evie and Lend end up. Another good story and on to the next. Happy Reading!!!!!!

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
It should tell you how good a book this was by how quickly I read it! I finished this book in a day! It has 160 pages but it is one that once you start you'll really want to finish to find out what happens. Evie, the main character is an orphan and was found by a paranormal agency that tracks down paranormals such as werewolves, vampires, faeries, and just about any creature or mythological beast you thought didn't exist. Something strange starts happening with the paranormal population though. They're starting to die and no one knows how or why. Turns out a new creature comes forward and starts all kinds of problems. Evie already has issues with faeries, namely one named Reth, and this new creature doesn't help anything! I really like the characters that Kiersten has come up with. Evie is so confident and funny. The way Kiersten writes flows so easy and she sucks you into the story, which is what I really like. I'm actually halfway into the sequel to Paranormalcy, which is Supernaturally and it is just as good. I will definitely be looking for other works from Kiersten. Happy Reading with this one! I would really recommend this one!Tuesday, April 24, 2012
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Cue the fricken hallelujah chorus!!!!!!!!!!! I finally finished this book!!!!!! This book is a little over 400 pages long. You could honestly start at a little over 200 and still know or figure out what is going on. The last 100 pages were good, but then it ended....This book was a waste of time. It was like a slow soap opera that took forever to just get to the point. I did like the main characters Puck, Sean & Finn. They were a good mixture of funny, serious, quirky, goofy and weren't characters that you wanted to smack. The story is mainly about horses. There's an island called Thisby where a certain species of horse are found. They come from the sea and are known as water horses. But just as sweet as land horses are, these water horses are mean and deadly. They are carnivores and will eat anything in their path, including humans. Every year there is a race, The Scorpio Race, where men of the island race with their lives. This story is about Puck and Sean racing for reasons that will change their lives. Along the way they find each other. Like I said, the last 100 pages are good, but other than that don't waste your time! It's a shame because Maggie's Mercy Falls Series was so much better! FINALLY on to the next!Monday, April 2, 2012
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
This is the book that follows the previous book I read, Unearthly. Oh it was so good. If you have read the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick you will love this. I have the most popular book cover pictured here but I found 3 different ones! So just an FYI. But Hallowed picks up just where Unearthly left off. Clara is still having trouble coming to terms with her decision where her purpose is concerned. She also has another vision where she knows someone dies. This stirs up even more problems. Samjeeza also starts giving the angel-bloods a lot more grief. But Clara & Jeffrey learn a lot about their heritage in this book. They find out who their dad is, that there are many more angel-bloods in the community, and they learn some of their mothers past. There's more twists and turns and it keeps getting better! Clara also is having trouble facing the truth where Christian is concerned, she's having to fight her conscious of should she be with Tucker who she absolutely loves wholeheartedly or should she be with Christian whom she has this undeniable connection with who she is finding out more each day is her destiny. As usual I am not going to get into too much detail, but I absolutely could not put these two books down until I was done with them. Hallowed just came out this past January so is still fairly new. A third book is coming BUT it doesn't have a title or cover yet and isn't even due till the beginning of 2013!!!! So upset when I found this out! Hallowed leaves you with so many unanswered questions so if you haven't started to read Unearthly yet I would suggest not starting it until the third book comes out. Or you can go ahead and read them like me and be agonizing over the time span till the third book will come out! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these books. Happy Reading!
