Destined: A House of Night Novel by P.C. & Kristen Cast

This is honestly one of the BEST series I've ever read, and with this being book #9 I kinda hope it goes to 20!  EVERY one of these books to this series has been so good.  There's everything.  They made me laugh out loud, want to cry, sigh out loud, gasp ( yes I said gasp) out loud and wish I was a high priestess with a hot consort!  I'm not going to give too much away with this book.  Only that Kalona is not what he seems, you'll see a much softer side to him and get a shocker in the very end.  You'll also get a HUGE clue as to what the next book will be about, which I'm hoping won't lead to the end of the series.  Zoey and her Grandma go through some major grieving but they'll get through it as usual since they're strong women.  HIGHLY suggest this series but you would definitely need to start at #1 which is called Marked.  Absolutely EVERY book I've read by this mother/daughter author team has been amazing!  I must caution that their books have some major sexuality to them, but this particular series is toned down compared to their other series.  All of their books are majorly empowering to women though.  SO happy anytime I read these books.  I can't wait for the next one.  I've heard there might be a movie in the works on this.  I'll let ya know if I can scrounge anything up, it would make an AWESOME movie and definitely give Twilight a run for its money if it's done right.  VERY happy reading with this series!

Crossed by Allie Condie

The first book, Matched, was REALLY good.  I would call it a modern version of The Giver by Lois Lowry.  I have to say that I expected Crossed to be a lot better than it was.  It started off ok, but the whole middle of the book dragged ooooooooooonnnnn.  Finally when it got toward the end it really picked up and then of course left you hanging!  If you recall the end of Matched, Cassia is wanting to leave to find Ky.  So the beginning of Crossed starts right where Matched left off, she's making her way to the outer provinces to where the aberrations and anomalies are sent a.k.a. Ky.  Half the book is her trying to catch up with him and find him.  The second half of the book is Cassia, along with a small group trying to find out where The Rising or Rebellion is and what they are all about.  I just think that the story could have been told in a less lengthy way.  It was dragged on when it didn't need to be.  But who knows what Ally has up her sleeve.  Maybe once the third book comes out we'll be reading it and saying to ourselves, "ooooooohhhhhh, that's why we had to read all that and go through it."  So we understand the third book better. I'm at least hoping that's how it will be.....

Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

LOVED IT! It was SO good!  Definitely better than the first one and kept me excited and not wanting to wait patiently for the third book!  At a Halloween party Bethany is begrudgingly dragged into a seance after her repeated warnings and unease with it.  During the seance the circle is broken and the demon Jake is released from Hell.  He then uses his magic and Bethany is tricked into following him into Hell, or as Jake likes to call it, Hades.  The whole story is based upon Bethany having to survive in Hell as an Angel of God.  The horrific things she starts to see test her faith and her hopefulness of ever escaping.  She sees some of the different realms of hell and also sees the pit where souls are tortured day in and day out.  I've never read a book that describes in detail a perspective from actually being in hell.  It was super interesting.  While Bethany is in hell, or Hades, her angel counterparts, Gabriel and Ivy, and Bethany's boyfriend and soul mate Xavier are trying to find a portal and figure out how to rescue her with the help of the Angel Michael.  Bethany is sent through turmoil while being made out to be Jake's princess in Hell.  Jake's followers start to question his loyalties and strength wear Bethany is concerned and Jake finds him fighting for her very survival from Satan.  Jake strikes a deal with Jake in the end.  Xaviers life for her innocence.  Will Gabriel, Ivy, Xavier and Michael find a portal to hell in time to save Bethany before she loses her innocence to a Prince of Satan?  I'm SO not giving it away!  This was an awesome book, definitely would suggest it.  Especially if you like reading paranormal romance. Like I said, I've never read a book that had such a new perspective of Hell and Angels.  VERY GOOD, can't say it enough.  Happy Reading!

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

This story has been sitting on my Nook for a while & I'm happy to have finally read it!  The world is starting to get overrun by "Dark Forces", meaning Lucifer and his Demons.  So God has sent Angels to earth disguised as human beings.  The story is about 3 angels in particular, Gabriel the warrior, Ivy the healer, & Bethany the youngest and most human angel of the 3.  While on earth she falls in love with a human, Xavier.  Throughout the love story between Bethany and Xavier, the group also has learned of Dark Forces becoming stronger in their small town that they must contest with.  In the beginning it's a little slow.  A lot of time is spent explaining in detail the surroundings and personalities of the Angels.  But over all it is a good story.  It does bring up sex, even though it doesn't happen, and also drinking and drugs and partying.  It doesn't say that any of it is ok, quite the contrary.  It is bethany that is uncomfortable with the antics of a normal high school teenager.  It's such a good story of God versus Satan, good versus evil.  I haven't found anything that say this is a series, but the second book after this one is called Hades, which I'm reading right now. I'll let you know once I'm done but I will tell you that the beginning gets you hook line and sinker!!!!

YAY! I'm up and running again!

Hey guys~

So, i got kinda off track in keeping up with my blog.  It's been so long I can't remember any of my info to get on!  So I had to create a new one and it's my new goal to keep up with it!  Promise!  Please let me know if you have any suggestions.  The book I'm reading right now is called Halo and it's good so far, so look for my blog coming soon!

The Son Of Neptune by Rick Riordan

This book was the second installment to The Heroes Of Olympus series that followed the Lightning Thief Series.  This book was absolutely amazing!  Usually there's a dip in a series, but the second book was better than the first!  Full of fast paced action and mystery, it keeps you wanting to read and not put it down until you're done!  I would suggest this book to anyone.  It's great for kids and adults alike.
