Crossed by Allie Condie

The first book, Matched, was REALLY good.  I would call it a modern version of The Giver by Lois Lowry.  I have to say that I expected Crossed to be a lot better than it was.  It started off ok, but the whole middle of the book dragged ooooooooooonnnnn.  Finally when it got toward the end it really picked up and then of course left you hanging!  If you recall the end of Matched, Cassia is wanting to leave to find Ky.  So the beginning of Crossed starts right where Matched left off, she's making her way to the outer provinces to where the aberrations and anomalies are sent a.k.a. Ky.  Half the book is her trying to catch up with him and find him.  The second half of the book is Cassia, along with a small group trying to find out where The Rising or Rebellion is and what they are all about.  I just think that the story could have been told in a less lengthy way.  It was dragged on when it didn't need to be.  But who knows what Ally has up her sleeve.  Maybe once the third book comes out we'll be reading it and saying to ourselves, "ooooooohhhhhh, that's why we had to read all that and go through it."  So we understand the third book better. I'm at least hoping that's how it will be.....
